"The Eminence in Shadow" (Japanese: 陰の実力者になりたくて!, Hepburn: Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!), written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tōzai, is a cinematic endeavor that seamlessly carries on the popular light novel series.
Beginning as a serialized online work on the user-generated novel site Shōsetsuka ni Narō in May 2018, the series gained popularity quickly and was later bought by Enterbrain. Enterbrain has been this literary endeavor's steadfast publisher since November 2018.

The series underwent an anime television adaptation by Nexus, which aired from October 2022 to February 2023, after transforming from a light book to an anime.
